They Said What? How Patterns of Bad Communication Can Lead to Liability

I will be giving this presentation on Monday, October 22, at 9:15 and then again at 3:45.  Cme on down and see me!

Have you ever read a case and thought, “I can’t believe he said that!?” As HR professionals, we’ve all heard of off the wall statements in our organizations. We’ll never be able to prevent all the wacky things people say, but we can limit their impact, and in some cases prevent them from happening in the first place. In this session, we’ll hear about a number of recent cases where managers said things guaranteed to make you shake your head in wonder. Participants will learn: how to prevent wacky comments from becoming costly lawsuits by fine tuning the management skills needed to create a respectful workplace; about recent discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination cases from NJ and around the country; and know the rules for preventing claims for wrongful action.
